Hiking in Merano and environs
Physical activity in the great outdoors is good for both body and soul.
All you need are comfortable shoes and the spirit of enterprice.
In the near surroundings there are a large number of hiking trails. Some of the famous trails are the Merano spa promenade  and the Tappeiner trail. Furthermore there are numeros walking routes toward the valley and in the mountains.

Golfing in Merano and environs
In the immediate vicinity you will find 2 golf courses for a unique experience between  mountains and nature.
The Golf Club Brandis in Lana is reachable in only 10 minitues from Merano an is situated between vineyards and apple orchards. The 9 hole course is playable all year around (par 35, 2,793 meters),
The Golf Club Passeier (18 holes, par 71, 5,755 yards) is located in St. Martin/Val Passiria, 15 km from Merano.
The modern golf course design and the terraced shaping with lakes and bunkers inserted in the natural landscape claim for a strategic playing of target golf . The course is open from March to November.

Cycling in Merano and environs
A dense network of cycling paths radiating around Merano make it easy to dive right into a bike ride – whether short, medium or long distance. It’s a great way to enjoy nature on the cycle paths along the Adige river and Passer river.

Skiing in Merano and environs
Above the spa town of Merano lies the sunny skiing area of Merano 2000, reachable in 15 minutes. Its popular among beginners and advanced skiers. Other winter sport areas area are the ski resort of Senales Valley Val (about 25 km) and the ski resort Solda all’Ortles (about 65 km) with its glaciers. It is alos worth seeing the car-free ski village Plan in the Val Passiria valley (about 38 km), and the ski resort Schwemmalm in Ultental valley (about 30 km).
